The term "Awning" can relate to many products. However, in our industry, an Awning is a retractable product designed for providing shade, usually manufactured from an aluminium frame and an acrylic based fabric. It is generally mounted to wall of a property (though can be freestanding) and extended using a spring loaded folding arm that retracts back into a cassette when not in use.
The primary difference between a standard retractable Awning and a Sun Canopy (often referred to as a Drop-Arm Awning) is the Sun Canopy is designed specifically to provide shade over a window or door.
A Patio Awning is one that you may sit out under but the Sun Canopy has a very specific function of providing maximum shade for internal rooms of your property.
Sun Canopies are also known as Drop Arm Awning. Mounted to the face of the window or door, the arms will drop up to 90 degrees (and more on some models) all from a press of a remote control.
Easily control the amount of shade a light by stopping the blind anywhere you desire between open and closed.

Whilst there are several styles and designs, Freestanding Awnings fall into two categories - models that are fixed into position by support posts sunk into the ground, and models that are mounted on a frame with wheels.

For those who want to stay outdoors even when the weather turns against you, our range of Rain Awnings provide all the sun protection of a standard Canopy but with the ability to withstand heavier rain and stronger winds.
As this type of Awning is mounted with a fixed frame, and posts at the front it can also be manufactured with larger projections than a standard Canopy.

This is a specialist type of blind that is designed for a conservatory roof - though can be mounted onto a Glass Canopy as well.
utilising a very special type of fabric, this blind lets in the light but blocks, heat, glare and UV. Instantly cooling the room beneath.
It is built using a discreet aluminium frame that is mounted to the glazing bars of the roof that keeps the fabric protected when not in use.

Similar in design to the Conservatory Awning but this is under the glass rather than over. Generally, our standard Awning & Canopy fabric is used for this model creating a cool and shady, ambient retreat.

One of the newest products to our range is the Louvered Pergola. Often freestanding, though can be installed to a house wall.
At the press of a button, you can rotate the louvers on the roof to control shade and airflow creating the perfect outdoor living space. If the weather turns against you then simply close the roof and let the integral gutter deal with the rain.
Our range of Pergola Canopies are fully compatible with our sliding glass walls and exteriors screens allowing you to partially or fully enclose the sides.

Upon placing an order our Technical Surveyor will visit to take the final measurements and run through any further questions.
Manufacture will commence with many of our Awnings & Canopies being made from our Dorset based factory.
Our expert installation teams will bring your Canopy in their Nationwide vehicle and install it - often within a day.
